I believe that God must have a master plan that we do not fully understand.
Why does God sit back and let children die of cancer, starvation etc - it is beyond my feeble mind - but that does not mean that God does not care.

Have you ever watched GOD.TV - its crazy!!!!
by The Scotsman injust flicking through the channels the other day and came across god.tv, which i have glanced at a few times previously.. anyway, they are currently trying to raise $4 million so they can keep broadcasting.. to set the scene - they have built a stone alter in the middle of the studio - on top of which they (rory and wendy alec) are placing printed off pledges.. they then start to pray and sprinkle anointing oil over the pledges while mumbling some strange hebrew words as well as wendy swaying from side to side as if she has had a bit to much to drink.. going along the bottom of the screen was "we need $4 million in the bank before may 31st" - i then realised that it was june 13th!!!!.
i believe in god but after watching this i can understand why some view religious people as a bit wacko.. tune in to witness the craziness for yourself.. the scotsman.

I had a great sleep during a drama once - missed the whole thing - the applause at the end woke me up - I immediately starting clapping as well of course.
I also used to get that awful nodding head syndrome - you know when you are trying to stay awake but the mind is trying to put you to sleep. Loads of folks at the meetings/assemblies did the same.

I just downloaded CofC and ISOCF
by Steve_C inalthough i was born into this religion/cult in 1963 and didn't leave until a few years ago, i just now ordered crisis of conscience and in search of christian freedom from commentary press.
i'm very much looking forward to reading these.. even though ray franz is gone, his important work continues.
i hope many more people can find out the truthtm about the wts..

I loved CoC - though it was upsetting to have my entire belief system dismantled - took a while to come to terms with the reality of the falsehood of WT teachings, but it ultimately led me to take action and leave.
When I read CoC I was still attending elder meetings - it was a strange time.
Ah - but the freedom - its great.

Ray Franz has had a stroke
by coffee_black injust setting the record straight.
there is another thread that notes a claim on wiki that said that ray has died.. he had a stroke yesterday, and is in the hospital.
he is still alive.

Based on what we already know - cars are built by intelligent people - no other method has been discovered. This is all we have in the way of tangible factual information.
My point was that with an infinite amount of time everything that was and is possible in the universe that has said infinite time would happen.
Yes you are correct - which means if I purchased a Lottery ticket each week I would eventually win the jackpot.

Is this true? I can see where you are coming from - but surely some things within the confines of a physical universe are simply "impossible". Physical laws have a limit, a boundary if you like and thus, this would imply that their is a finite number of possibilities. Infinite time in itself would not be enough.
If I placed the principle materials of a car in a hole in the ground would "infinite time on its own" produce a fully working car? This surely is not improbable but actually impossible!
But you are right - infinite time opens the way to possibilities way beyond our comprehension.
